I downloaded Microsoft Essentials, and when I tried to use it, it said that it wasn't a valid Windows 32 application. But the site was microsoft.com. Then, I found a page on how some programs are pretending to be that one which gave a link to the real one. It looked different, but again, was microsoft.com. But this time, when I hit download, it did nothing at all. What's going on! I would like a better replacement for AVG, since that slows down my other machine and I don't want this happening here. But of course, this new one must be accessible, and i thought that the one from Microsoft works fine.
It does work very well. I'll check around and see if I still have the installer. If so, I'll send it to you.
Remove it first. Then go to www.microsoft.com and in the search box type in the name, but add download to your question. You'll find the correct version. You probably downloaded the 64 bit version is what happened, so make sure you get the 32 bit version.
I got it and dropboxed it to her. Last I heard, she loves it.
Yes, get the correct version it works nicely. I don't personally use it, but as far as accessibility, and free priced, it does well.
I'm sorry for not updating. I did receive it and it works beautifully. Yes, it's very accessible, feven more so than AVG and I ran both a full and a quick scan with it and it didn't slow down my system at all! Highly recommended.
